Route 66 Flagstaff to Seligman

Route 66 Adventure

Day 5 Part 1

Flagstaff to Seligman

Dennis and I headed out early. We had a lot to see and do. Before we even left Flagstaff I wanted to see another Giant. This Giant was the 1st of all the Route 66 Giants. This one is an ax wielding Paul Bunyan installed in 1962, an ancestor to the 3 Illinois Giants. This Giant is located at Granny's Closet, which is said to be a great restaurant.

Leaving Flagstaff we had a variety of sights from the 66 Eaglerider to some uniquely colored townhouses.

Heading out of Flagstaff on our way to Williams, AZ.

We saw so many trains on our trip. We wished we had kept count. It would have been a staggering amount.

On to Ash Fork with a 1958 Desoto perched on the roof of DeSoto's Beauty and Barber Shop housed in an old gas station.

Next door in a pink and blue building is the Route 66 Grill.

Down the road is the Copper State Motel with its cobblestone walls.

On to Seligman and the world famous Snow Cap. This has long been the funniest food spot on '66, as the late Juan Delgadillo played a gamut of jokes and tricks on his customers, including false doorknobs, “squirting” catsup bottles and “slightly used napkins”.

Seligman has a variety of interesting places including:

The Rusty Bolt-
This is a little video I took

Me shooting some video.

The Copper Cart-

Tons of buses and motorcycles were stopped here. Seligman is a popular tourist town.

The Black Cat-

 and The Roadkill Cafe-

On down the road we came across the Arizona Territorial Jail and town front-

Well I guess this is enough for the moment and we haven't even had lunch yet.  As you can see I took tons of pictures. I LOVE to take pictures!!

Hope you are enjoying my photo blog.

Until next time as I continue our adventure,
Have the best day EVER,
